CNCR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION FORMS
The CNC Region is offering one (1) $500.00 Scholarship. Please circulate the following information to your eligible skating members in order for this award to be offered to all our qualified skaters.
Criteria and Description of the award is as follows:
DESCRIPTION:
This award was established to provide financial assistance for one CNCR skater each season that is pursuing a post-secondary education in the field of their choice at a University, College, Vocational or Technological Institute of their choice.
AWARD: $500.00
NUMBER OF AWARDS: ONE (1)
ELIGIBILITY:
APPLICATION:
Applicants must complete the following:
1. Application Form
2. Additional Student Information (brief essay)
3. Student Transcripts Form
4. Reference letter from an Official of the skater’s Skate Canada Club
5. Reference letter or letters from a person(s) not involved in skating. (i.e. school counselor, teacher, employer)
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Successful applications will be evaluated in whole with priority based on the following items in the order listed below:
1. Applicant’s volunteerism in the sport of skating as well as their community
2. Applicant’s achievements in skating including assessments, competitions, courses with dates, and future dedication to Skating.
3. Applicant’s current academic marks as completed by their school
4. Student Essay

- Candidates must be a current Skate Canada skating member, registered in a club within the CNCR and whose primary residence is in the CNCR.
- Candidates must produce a confirmation of enrolment into the accredited post-secondary institution that they are attending prior to financial imbursement.

4. Reference letter from an Official of the skater’s Skate Canada Club
5. Reference letter or letters from a person(s) not involved in skating. (i.e. school counselor, teacher, employer)

APPLICATION NOTES:
- Academic standing will be a consideration, but will not be the total deciding factor.
- Any recipient unable to continue his/her education in the year immediately following graduation may defer the award for one year by emailing the CNC Region Chair stating their intent.
